extreme cold. While the harsh weather has been unwelcome, it has painted my gardens with a stunning, frosty end to the growing season, as you can see in the pictures of my roses blanketed in snow.
Living in a historic pre-Civil War house presents its challenges; despite our best efforts with insulation and furnace upgrades, the cold has been relentless. Temperatures inside dipped to the low 50s, and we've even battled frozen pipes. Fortunately, my studio, housed in a newer building on our property, remains a warm sanctuary, allowing me to immerse myself in my work.

I've also dedicated time to journal-making, my
passion. I've completed a "Pride and Prejudice" themed journal and an

Edgar Allan Poe one, each evolving from a simple idea into something beautiful. This process, much like painting, is where I find joy - in the openness of letting creativity unfold naturally. Next up are a fairy-themed journal, followed by snowman and Christmas designs.
I hope this winter season finds you all safe, warm, and bubbling with creative ideas, making our world a more beautiful place.
With warmth and creativity,
Nancy
